Rock Creek Art Faculty Show What They Know at Exhibit
Photos and story by James Hill
Come witness PCC art faculty members blow the lid off the tired myth "Those who can’t do, teach" when they show students and community members just what they are made of in the PCC Rock Creek Art Faculty Show from May 3-June 11 at the Rock Creek Gallery.
A flurry of mediums will be represented at the show from sculpting and oil painting to photography, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media and more. In addition to the wide array of art forms, gallery visitors who make their way to Rock Creek Gallery on May 12 from 7-9 p.m. can soak up the sultry jazz of vocal recording artist and PCC music instructor Mary Kadderly at a reception for the artists.
Artists scheduled to exhibit at the show are:
Mark Andres, Richey Bellinger, Linda Berkley, Donna Cole, Carol Dubosch, Barbara Getty, Richard Helzer, Celina Patterson, Francisco Salgado, Michael Sawyer, Susanne Willis.
Andres said this show is an excellent opportunity for people outside of the art community to see just how talented these teaching artists many of whom exhibit all around the world are.
"For students it is a great opportunity to see who they might want to study with," said Andres, whose oil paintings will be shown at the event. "It will also give the community the chance to see the quality of instructors we have here (at Rock Creek)."
The Rock Creek Gallery is located on the PCC Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road, in Building 3.
