PORTLAND, Ore. – An introductory non-credit course offered by Portland Community College in basic sign language will teach students to communicate with the hearing- impaired population. Instructor Jessica Duckworth will offer step-by-step lessons in a supportive environment. Students will complete the course with basic skills and confidence to speak with their hands. American Sign Language I, Beginning Term 1 will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Tuesday, April 2 through June 4, at the Sylvania Campus in Room 220 of the CT building, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $60.
