Emerick wins contract for PCC's Sylvania project

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland-based general contractor, Emerick Construction Co., has been awarded the construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC) contract for Portland Community College’s Sylvania Campus bond improvements and utilities upgrade project.The improvements, which will cost an estimated $7.5 million, will cover a range of projects. They include campus upgrades to the air conditioning, fire sprinkler system, electrical service installation, emergency power system, and building renovations. The multiple projects require particular skill and attention to day-to-day scheduling, coordinating and phasing of the work, while keeping the campus fully operational, minimizing disruption and maintaining safety for students, staff and employees. Emerick is currently working on a wide array of educational facilities, which includes Southern Oregon University, Whitman College, Estacada’s new grade school and junior high school, and Centennial and Lebanon high schools.The college is the largest post-secondary institution in Oregon, serving 105,000 part- and full-time students at three comprehensive campuses, four workforce training centers and more than 200 community locations in the Portland metropolitan area.
