Class Explores Stress Management for Seizure Sufferers

NORTH/NORTHEAST PORTLAND – Portland Community College will examine the role that stress plays in relation to seizures in the non-credit class Seeing Seizures Anew: Finding Our Wholeness. Instructor Barbara Roberts will guide students through techniques on how to reduce stress, which may help decrease the number, or severity, of seizures. The course is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. every Tuesday from Sept. 25 to Oct. 23 in room 217 at Grant High School, 2245 N.E. 36th Ave.Some of the stress management ideas include self-care techniques, becoming aware of one’s own communication style and overall self-awareness. Also, people will learn to observe triggers and other ways to reduce the number of seizures a person suffers. Cost is $40. For more information, contact Community Education at 503-978-5205.
