Explore Nature Photography, Shakespeare in PCC Classes

The wonders of outdoor photography and the genius of William Shakespeare will be explored during non-credit classes being offered in Newberg and Tualatin this fall by Portland Community College. Two sessions of a Beginning Outdoor/Nature Photography class have been scheduled. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 25 through Nov. 27, at Tualatin High School, 22300 S.W. Boones Ferry Road, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Sept. 29 through Dec.1, at Newberg High School, 2400 Douglas Ave. Tuition for each class is $90. A $5 fee will be assessed for the Tualatin class only.Instructor Scott Martin will teach proper camera operation and handling techniques, including lens selection, film types, exposure settings and lighting. Participants should bring their own camera and be prepared to experiment with a variety of film types while exploring their own photographic interests.The Relevance of Shakespeare will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 26 through Nov. 14, at Tualatin High School. The cost is $53. Taught by professional theater artists Laurence Overmire and Nancy McDonald, the class will focus on the significance of William Shakespeare, generally considered one of the greatest writers in the English language.
