PORTLAND, Ore. – They say the fear of public speaking is worse than the fear of death. Be afraid no longer. Portland Community College can help you gain the confidence you need to speak in public with a non-credit class. Overcoming Public Speaking Fears will offer key techniques to gain control over jitters when speaking to groups. Instructor Seamus Kennedy will explain the scientific knowledge for developing calm performances and staying cool under tension. Come join a supportive environment and emerge with the self-assurance you need to speak to a group at any time. The one-day class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, in the Spruce Room of the CC Building at PCC’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $19.
