PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Community College will host a three-hour workshop, "Bioterrorism: The Dawning of a Public Health Risk,"from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in Room 104 of the Central Portland Workforce Training Center, 1626 S.E. Water Ave. Karen Stefonek, an epidemiologist with Oregon’s Department of Human Services, will discuss identification and reporting procedures on such bioterrorism hazards as anthrax, botulism, foodborne illnesses, plagues and smallpox.Also, Stefonek will highlight basic principles of biological weapons and how to prepare for an attack.
