PCC golf classes in full swing this summer

PORTLAND, Ore. – Take up the game that is as famous for networking business associates as it is for fun afternoons with friends. Portland Community College can get you out onto the green this summer with beginning golf lessons.Golf at Rock Creek: Beginning Indoor, a non-credit class, is your chance to work with a real pro for a fraction of the price. Instructor Daryl Laube will explain the rules and etiquette of golf along with the full swing and short game. Students will have the unique chance to practice on an indoor course, and take their skills to an outdoor local course for the final class. The cost is $39 with an additional $8 payable to the golf course."These are skills you can learn for a lifetime of fun on the green,"says Ann Van Orman, PCC Community Education manager. "After the class, you’ll be ready to hit local courses with confidence."The class runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Fridays. Two classes will be offered this term: June 27 through Aug. 1, and Aug. 8 through Sept. 5. All classes will meet in the Gym of PCC’s Rock Creek Campus, 17705 N.W. Springville Road.
