Welcoming PCC’s Interim Sustainability Manager
Posted by Melissa Aaberg
Please join us in welcoming Briar Schoon to the position of Interim Sustainability Manager.
Briar holds a Masters Degree in Sustainability from Arizona State University. She has served as PCC’s Sustainability Analyst for the past 17 months, responsible for our Greenhouse Gas reporting and STARS submissions. STARS stands for Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System.
Briar has also represented the college at the national-level making presentations on Greenhouse Gas Inventories at Association for Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) conferences.
She not only “walks the talk” but also, teaches it. Briar is a part-time faculty member, teaching ESR 140, Intro to Environmental Sustainability at the Rock Creek Campus.
Briar is assuming her new duties following the departure of Erin Stanforth who relocated to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, to serve as their Sustainability Director.
Welcome Briar!
