PantherPrint Data Collection: scheduled work in June
Posted by amcmahon
Over the next few weeks, PCC IT staff will be visiting your office to gather information about networked printers. They will be confirming printer locations, serial numbers and asking for a contact name to receive print supplies.
This is part of the district-wide PantherPrint initiative co-sponsored by IT (Michael Northover, CIO) and the Print Center (Jim Langstraat, Vice President Finance and Administration).
Here is some background: historically, district-wide printing (including toner replacement and machine repair) has been inconsistent, decentralized, and costly to the college. The Board of Directors has approved a resolution authorizing transition to a “managed print services” (MPS) model for the college. PCC has contracted with Xerox to serve as the single point of contact for service and supplies of all PCC networked printers. This will provide service consistency, comprehensive usage reporting, and significant annual savings for the college. (Printers at Metro Center and some printers at Willow Creek will not be included in the program at this time.)
In June, we will be communicating additional important details – including launch dates and program pricing. Q&A sessions will also be scheduled at each campus to help communicate this change. In the meantime, you can learn more about the project by visiting pcc.edu/pantherprint.
As our IT teams work through the aforementioned printer inventory task, we ask for your cooperation in launching this important initiative!
If you have any questions or comments we welcome your feedback – please contact pantherprint@pcc.edu.
